Act! is guided by an Executive Leadership Team with a wide range of experience working in and with businesses of all sizes. Some are entrepreneurs themselves, and others have worked with the largest companies in the Fortune 100. Our people are located around the world, from Scottsdale, Arizona to northern England.
President & CEO
Steve is a progressive leader that brings more than 20 years of leadership and success to Act!. As President and CEO, he’s responsible for the global operations of the company delivering technology-driven business solutions, driving profitable revenue growth, overseeing global marketing and sales, and leading the development and maintenance of key strategic partnerships. His reputation is built on his successful track record working with industry leaders such as Constant Contact and IBM — building solutions that delivered top results for SMB and enterprise customers.
Prior to Act!, Steve served as CEO for several successful companies including Julius Influencer Marketing, an end-to-end influencer marketing software solutions company. At Pipedrive, a CRM platform for small business, Steve more than tripled the size of the business in customer count and revenue. While serving as CEO at Crossboard Mobile, a global provider of hyper-targeted mobile and web “signup” ads he streamlined the operation and achieved a successful acquisition of the company by mGage. Steve is a former Executive-in-Residence at Bessemer Venture Partners, where he advised portfolio companies including an interim COO role at Raise.
Steve holds a bachelor’s from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in business, and an MBA from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business.

As Senior Vice President and General Manager, Lindsay oversees Act!’s international operations and is responsible for channel management globally.
Before Act!, Lindsay was Commercial Product Manager at Sage, the market leader for business management solutions for small businesses. For nearly a decade, he was responsible for the commercial success of Sage UK’s upper mid-market ERP and CRM software portfolio that included Act!, Sage CRM, and SalesLogix. Lindsay began his tenure at Sage as a corporate attorney. Prior to Sage, he was a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, practicing with a global law firm, and worked in the City of London with a specialist IP and IT law firm.
Lindsay received a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Sheffield.

Lanae is responsible for developing and executing the global HR strategy for Act! supporting the overall strategic direction of the company, specifically in human capital management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and compensation. Over the last 20 years, she contributed to elevating the company to the player it is today helping professional services businesses (e.g., legal, engineering, accounting, financial services, consulting, architecture, real estate) open up new customer touchpoints, manage new relationships and streamline internal workflows – all needed for businesses to succeed.
Previous to Act!, Lanae led the HR department at MSHOW.com, an interactive broadcasting company. As Director of HR, she was responsible for the company’s HR functions creating and enforcing policies and programs – driving the company’s people management strategy. Prior to that, she served as HR manager at Mammoth Micro Productions, implementing and managing the HR operations for the CD-ROM multimedia company.
Lanae holds a bachelor’s in psychology from Colorado State University. Memberships include Society for Human Resource Management, Mile High Society of Human Resource Management, Colorado Technical Association and Valley of the Sun Human Resource Association.
CFO & COO
CFO & COO
Darian serves as a member of Act’s executive management team. He is responsible for directing all financial and corporate planning matters as well as business systems, project management office, legal, and risk management functions.
Before Act!, Darian held several CFO positions. At WebPT, the leading rehab therapy SaaS software platform, the company tripled revenue during his tenure and consummated a successful exit to Warburg Pincus. Prior to WebPT, Darian was CFO of Velocify, a high-growth sales automation SaaS leader for fast-paced sales environments which quadrupled both revenue and employees during his tenure. At AT&T Interactive, an industry leader in local search products and services, the company generated nearly $1 billion in revenue earning the company a position on the comScore Top 50 list of elite digital media properties. Overall, he spent nearly 10 years with AT&T in various management, network operations, and financial management positions. Previous to that, he held product line management and sales roles at Spirent Communications, Harris Corporation, and Eaton Corporation.
Darian holds an MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and a bachelor’s in economics from the University of California, Irvine.
(CCO) Chief Customer Officer
As Chief Customer Officer, Ellen focuses on building, growing, and nurturing relationships with Act’s customers. With over 30 years of experience in technology, she is responsible for establishing a high-caliber customer experience across the customer journey as well as exceeding customers’ needs and expectations by driving CX optimization efforts across Act!’s portfolio of products.
Prior to Act!, Ellen was SVP of Customer Success at Intralinks, a leading financial technology provider for the global banking, deal-making, and capital markets. Before that, she spent nearly a decade at Constant Contact, first as SVP of Product Strategy and then as SVP of Customer Success and Operations. There, she led the product strategy team through the company’s IPO, redesigned the core architecture bringing four new products (survey, event marketing, social campaigns, and local deals) to market. Under her leadership, Customer Success significantly improved customer retention and increased customer engagement for over 650,000 customers. Throughout her career, Ellen held VP-level roles at various technology companies including SVP of Marketing and Product Management at GetConnected, Inc., VP of Marketing at OutStart, SVP of Product Strategy at Be Free, and served as both a VP and GM at Open Market Inc. In every position, she implemented successful revenue and go-to-market strategies — enabling companies to exceed their business goals.
Ellen holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

As CTO, Chad oversees Act!’s engineering efforts including product development, research, quality assurance, DevOps, IT, and infrastructure, while leading strategic planning and customer relations. With nearly three decades of creating successful technology companies with fruitful exit strategies, his entrepreneurial roots lie in innovation. At Act! Chad employs new technologies creating and implementing technology strategies across the company and its product portfolio. As SVP, he oversees the development, implementation, and security of the company’s overall information systems.
Before Act!, Chad served as both CEO and CTO of Kuvana. He started the company to compete in the SMB market with marketing automation. During his time there, Chad developed an integration with Act!, which is now known as Act! Marketing Automation. In 2018, Act! acquired Kuvana. Prior to that, he was co-founder and CTO of Sudu (acquired by Arbest), a VC-backed freight marketplace centered around voice and conversational AI connecting large enterprises that ship freight with a network of 300,000 owner-operators. Chad has served as CEO and CTO for other well-known companies – Salesfusion, an enterprise marketing automation company, and Sage Software, a software development consulting company focusing on geographical information systems and telephony. At both companies, he was responsible for global operations, driving profitable revenue growth, overseeing marketing and sales, and leading the development of key strategic partnerships. The result of his success at Salesfusion led to the company’s successful acquisition by SugarCRM.
Chad holds an MBA in international business from Georgia State University. He also obtained a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and certification in computer engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Steve leads Act!’s global marketing team overseeing the planning, developing, and execution of the company’s marketing strategy. Bringing over 20 years of experience to Act!, his success in generating revenues by increasing sales has led to successful marketing initiatives throughout his career.
Prior to Act!, Steve was CMO at DaySmart, a leading provider of business management solutions. There, he oversaw a multi-disciplinary marketing team that drove demand generation and lead capture for four distinct product brands. This team drove exponential inbound leads, which tripled the company’s revenue — resulting in DaySmart’s acquisition by LLR and Parthenon Capital in 2019. Prior to that, he was VP of Marketing at Sonian, an information archival company (acquired by Barracuda Networks in 2017) focused on retaining and retrieving critical data and protecting intellectual property. At Sonian, Steve served on the executive committee and instituted marketing automation systems and GTM strategies which drove 40 percent YOY revenue growth. Before that, he ran his own marketing and creative services firm, bold, which delivered award-winning design and comprehensive marketing campaigns to B2C and B2B Fortune 500 and start-up clients around the world.
SVP, Product Development
Mike serves as a member of Act’s executive management team. He is responsible for directing all product management and product development functions.
Before Act!, Mike founded multiple companies, including Babysitters.com. He is an entrepreneurial product leader with over 26 years of experience defining and launching groundbreaking products. He’s passionate about translating customer needs into product solutions and has succeeded in building, scaling, and mentoring product teams that move quickly, take risks, measure results, and adjust daily.
Mike served in the US Marines Corps and received a bachelor’s degree in business from Campbell University.

As a long-time member of the leadership team, Joe leads a team focused on customer revenue growth, strategic commercial programs, and operational excellence. With nearly a decade at Act!, he is a change agent driving pricing and commercial strategies, product and service launches, messaging and positioning, sales enablement, and customer lifecycle activities.
Before Act!, Joe spent 13 years at Sage in various product and commercial leadership roles, with the majority of his tenure leading high-performance Product Marketing teams. His efforts helped ensure the alignment of customers’ needs with the company’s product and commercial strategy while driving exceptional go-to-market readiness and effective enablement of internal and external stakeholders. Through strategic collaboration with functional marketing teams, vendors, and channel partners, Joe and his teams drove effective campaigns, promotions, and lifecycle management programs that increased revenue while fostering loyal customer relationships and retention.
Joe holds an MBA from Arizona State University and a bachelor’s in psychology from Santa Clara University.
Nick leads Act!’s Direct Sales efforts in North America, overseeing revenue growth, partnerships, and business development strategy. With over 10 years of experience in sales, business development, and leadership, he focuses on scaling revenue teams through efficient processes implementation, product and sales training, and building a winning sales culture.
Prior to Act!, Nick was the VP of Sales at Hawkemedia, a month-to-month a la carte outsourced marketing agency. There he transformed the lowest revenue channel of outbound sales efforts into the leading new business generating channel and helped grow overall revenue by over 60% in two years. Prior to that, Nick was the head of inside sales at, MNTN (SteelHouse), an ad tech company specializing in programmatic display and CTV where he doubled the sales team and helped to drive year over year revenue growth. He also co-founded and runs a medical testing distribution business, Playa Supply that focuses on providing rapid tests to hospitals and medical facilities.
