Hence, why you may be tempted to purchase lists – but if you put in the leg work up front and build your list the right way, your email marketing campaigns will yield far better results than if you were to send messages to a list of people you don’t even know. So whether your business is new, you’re new to email marketing or maybe you’re just looking to add fresh contacts to your email marketing campaigns, here are four actionable steps to grow your list.
Step 1: Have a plan. One that includes a target audience, clearly defined goals and relevant content to include in your messages to achieve those goals.
Step 2: Create an email signup form. Use your email software to create an email capture form. Make sure it’s visible, simple to understand, and enticing for your visitor to provide his or her email address.
Step 3: Drive traffic to your email signup form. Utilize paid search or social media campaigns. These are just two of the many ways to drive traffic to your website.
Step 4: Encourage your email subscribers to share your emails with others. Want your subscribers to share your content with their contacts? Easy. Create useful, relevant content, and make it easy for them to share and/or forward.
