ACT! is designed for individuals, small businesses and small workgroups within an organization. ACT! accommodates up to 10 users sharing data or a virtually unlimited number of individual users.

View detailed information on differences.

With ACT! can I have more than 10 users who share the same database?
No, with ACT!, you cannot have more than 10 users sharing data. If you require more than 10 users sharing data, you need ACT! Premium for Workgroups.

With ACT! Premium for Workgroups can I have more than 50 users who share the same database?
The limit of 50 users is not a technical product limit. Performance will vary by number of users, computer capacity and heavily depends on the size and characteristics of your database. ACT! does not recommend exceeding the 50 user limit per database without careful consideration within your specific environment.

What are the primary differences between ACT! and SalesLogix and Sage CRM?
ACT! is a contact and customer manager, whereas SalesLogix and Sage CRM are CRM products. CRM products by definition include Sales, Marketing, Service and Support competencies. While more robust than most contact managers, ACT! includes some light sales functionality that is useful to track some marketing and service types of inquiries, however, these are not areas of core competency. In addition, ACT! remains to be primarily contact focused whereas CRM solutions, tend to have opportunities and activities aligned with a company or account.

  1. Must purchase one license of ACT! per user.
  2. Actual number of users and contacts supported will vary based on hardware and size and usage of your database. The 50 user limit is based on performance tests using minimum hardware requirements and is a recommendation. You must purchase one license of ACT! per user.
