Getting Help with ACT! Documentation

The following items will help you learn about ACT! and show you where you can access help.

Installation Guide
The Installation Guide explains how to install, register, and activate the software. You should read this document before installing the product. A printed Installation Guide is provided with the product. It is also available on the product CD (choose Product Documentation on the CD browser).

Help
Help is your best source for information about using the software. Use the Contents, Index, and Search tabs to find the information you need.

To access Help:

  1. From the Help menu, click Help Topics or from most windows or dialog boxes, press F1. (not Web Client)

You can resize or move the Help window.

Feature Tours
Tours walk you through scheduling activities, working with opportunities, using groups and companies, installing handheld links, using Dashboards, and so on.

To access feature tours:

  1. From the Help menu, point to Feature Tours. Click a tour name. (For Web client, go to www.act.com/community/training; click the Product tutorials link. Select the tour you want to run.)

The tour is accessed on the Web site. A File Download message appears. Click Run twice to download and start the tour.

Quick Reference Card
The Quick Reference Card provides tips for navigating the application, building your database, scheduling activities, working with e-mail, and customizing the application. A printed Quick Reference Card is provided in the product box. It is also available from the Help menu (from the Help menu, select Online Manuals).

Administrator’s Guide (Web Server only)
Explains how to install, register, activate, and secure the software. It also explains how to use the Web Site Administration tool to administer your Web site. A printed Administrator’s Guide is provided in the product binder.

Getting Help with ACT! Anytime Learning
Converting ACT! by Sage 6.0 Data to ACT! by Sage 2008 (10.0):

Are you concerned about upgrading your ACT! 6.0 data and files to ACT! 2008? Are you worried you might lose data, custom templates or reports? Converting this data may be easier than you think!
