Using Groups to Manage Events & Meetings
If you’re charged with planning events, ACT! can help manage your attendance lists. It’s also a great tool for automating correspondence to your invitees and attendees.

Understanding groups is essential to creating an event tracking system with ACT!. You can use groups to track invitee lists, RSVP lists, and attendance lists. Once you have classified contacts into these categories, sending them correspondence – like mass e-mails or letter merges – will only take a few minutes to complete.

Mailing regularly to your existing customer base and current prospects is a good way to keep your customers active, reactivate accounts or convert a prospect into a first-time customer. (ACT! Tip: Easily export your current prospect list in ACT! to Microsoft¨ Excel¨ by clicking the Export to Excel icon.) In addition, purchasing and mailing to an outside list of targeted prospects can generate new leads and result in profitable new customers to add to your existing base.

The ACT! product family recently released a new vertical product, ACT! by Sage + FAct for Financial Professionals, which extends our vertical portfolio into the financial services industry. The initial offering bundles FAct and either ACT! or ACT! Premium for Workgroups products. The next release (date TBD) will be a fully integrated solution with feature and functionality levels similar to the ACT! by Sage Premium for Real Estate solution.

Q: We just upgraded from ACT! 6.0 to ACT! 2007. In ACT! 6.0, we regularly compressed and re-indexed our database to prevent data corruption. I can’t find a compress and re-index feature in ACT! 2007. Is this something that we need to worry about?
